This 1950s film, shot by the gun camera mounted on Major Hal Fitzpatrick’s fighter plane during the Korean War, consists of reels from different United States Air Force missions, with official combat film numbering preceding each segment. In the footage, the plane glides over the Korean countryside and surveys attack sites on the ground. Born in Dallas and raised in Austin, Fitzpatrick also served as an Air Force pilot during the Vietnam War before retiring in 1975. He earned several honors during his 30-year career, including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Distinguished Service Medal.
