This 1940s home movie captures the Bench family of El Paso visiting family and military posts out of state. First, sisters Marcia and Geraldine Bench compete in a pair of horse shows. Then, friends and family spend some quality time lakeside, swimming, boating, and picnicking. Later, the Benches visit relatives in snowy Des Plaines, Illinois, before observing military drills and demonstrations at Fort Knox in Kentucky. Back home in El Paso, Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Bench, the donor’s grandfather, captures artillery maneuvers at Fort Bliss, where he was stationed.
