In February 1963, an episode of the popular television program "Route 66" was filmed on-location in Galveston, Texas (Season 3, Episode 24.) This home movie captures a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the episode, in which the show's stars, Martin Milner and Glenn Corbett, cruise the island in their iconic Corvette convertible and get themselves in and out of various scrapes and brawls. Views of local businesses and landmarks in this footage include the Seahorse Motel, the Pleasure Pier, Seawall Boulevard, and several local eateries.
