Hurricanes
The Gulf Coast of Texas is no stranger to dangerous storms, especially in September.
Over more than the last century, several hurricanes have made a significant impact on Texas: The Galveston Hurricane of 1900 (9/8/1900), Beulah (1967), Carla (9/11/1961), Celia (8/3/1970), Allen (8/10/1980), Alicia (8/18/1983), Rita (9/23/2005), and Ike (9/13/2008).
