The materials donated by Richard Workman depict the years when he and his brothers, Gerald Jr. and Sam M. ("Mack"), were growing up in Beeville, TX with their parents Gerald M. and Mary McCarty Workman. The films present everyday play scenes, family gatherings, parties, and trips to Mathis, Corpus Christi, and the San Antonio Zoo. The parade footage comes from different years of the Bee County Rodeo. In this reel we find footage from the 1952 parade, followed by footage from home on Carter St. Suddenly, the scene switches to a country field, from which a homemade rocket launches into the firmament. Then we return to Carter St.: horseplay in the front yard. At one point, a sousaphone appears. The film concludes with dark interior shots of Christmas decoration activities.
