This home movie captures the Hester family on vacation in 1963. They start their trip in Arlington with a visit to Six Flags Over Texas. (The amusement park opened two years prior.) The footage captures guests enjoying many of the park’s attractions, some of which are no longer in operation, such as the Astro-Lift. Later, the Hesters drive through Bryan on their way to a Central Texas swimming hole, where they cool off by swimming and jumping into the water.
