  •  Operating from 1952 to 1996, the Sands Hotel and Casino was established by Texas oil tycoon Jake Freedman. It became the center of entertainment on the Strip, with regular performances by Frank Sinatra (who made his performing debut at the hotel in 1953), Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Red Skelton.  
  •  Opening in 1946, the Flamingo is the oldest resort on the Strip still in operation today 
  •  The Dunes Hotel closed in 1993. The Bellagio now stands in its place. 
  •  Last Frontier Village, part of the New Frontier Hotel complex. Opening in 1942, New Frontier was the second resort to open on the Las Vegas Strip. It closed in 2007. 19:50 Silver Slipper Casino 
  •  Sequoia National Park in California
