This home movie captures scenes of downtown Austin in 1965. While his cousin Chato Serrano was visiting Austin, donor Ramon Galindo filmed significant buildings and the skyline of Austin. Included are images of the University of Texas campus; downtown Austin as seen from the UT Tower; the Texas State Capitol Building from Congress Avenue; the construction of the Westgate Tower, Austin’s first high-rise; and historic homes such as the Houghton House and the Butler House, both of which have since been demolished.
