This home movie captures scenes of the Gonzalez family in San Luis Potosí, Mexico in the 1965 for the weekend of Cristela’s quince años celebration. The family mingles outside of a restaurant named Los Jacales, known for its carnitas specialty. The family also attends an unusual parade on Avenida Carranza in downtown SLP that was a part of freshman initiations at a local university. Students march wearing masks and hoods, creating a somewhat surreal atmosphere.
