This silent news footage from the KCTV News Collection captures scenes of the groundbreaking ceremony for San Angelo’s Lake View High School in 1969. Community leaders and future students and teachers pose for photographs at the proposed building site before a speech given by San Angelo ISD School Board President and future San Angelo mayor, Tom Parrett. Following the speech, the ceremonial shovel is brought out for the actual breaking of ground. Lake View High School is one of two high schools in San Angelo.
