This 1970s footage captures a pair of educational workshops at a school in Corpus Christi. In the first, attendees focus on the impact of television on children, particularly in terms of its depiction of violence and stereotypes. After listening to a lecture, the teachers break off into groups to discuss the topic further. In the second, teachers learn about ways to enhance students’ self-concept and encourage them to be creative. Following the seminar, attendees practice making collages as a teaching tool. The film was shot by Bea McKinney while she was teaching filmmaking classes at King High School in Corpus Christi. She also hosted the Texas Student Film Festivals.
