In this unedited interview for Austin’s KVUE-TV, Roy Faires sits down with producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson to talk about their latest film, Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), starring Eddie Murphy. The duo was responsible for a string of hits during the 1980s, including Flashdance (1983), Beverly Hills Cop (1984), and Top Gun (1986). Bruckheimer and Simpson were named Producers of the Year by the National Association of Theatre Owners in 1985 and 1988. In the interview, Bruckheimer and Simpson discuss their formula to making a successful film. Faires worked as a special project director and entertainment critic/reporter at KVUE-TV, Austin’s ABC affiliate, from 1976-1989.
