In this unedited interview for Austin’s KVUE-TV, Roy Faires sits down with writer Neil Simon to talk about his latest film, Brighton Beach Memoirs (1986). Simon also wrote the play from which the film is adapted. In the interview, Simon discusses his writing process and the particular challenges of writing this story. He also reflects on the consequences of fame. Faires worked as a special project director and entertainment critic/reporter at KVUE-TV, Austin’s ABC affiliate, from 1976-1989.
