As the direct predecessor to Project Apollo, Project Gemini was responsible for developing and testing many of the procedures and operations necessary for a successful mission to the Moon. Produced for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, this government film reviews one of the most important Gemini objectives: the study and evaluation of rendezvous and docking maneuvers. After introducing planned rendezvous and docking techniques for Project Apollo, the film thoroughly explains the six methods to be tested during Gemini missions. The first space rendezvous was eventually accomplished by Gemini 6A on December 15, 1965.
