During mass on October 26, 1969, members of the Roman Catholic Church gathered at St. Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth to celebrate the creation of the Diocese of Fort Worth and the installation of its first diocesan bishop, John Joseph Cassata. In the footage, the Apostolic Delegate, Archbishop Luigi Raimondi, ceremoniously appoints Bishop Cassata to his new position as pastoral leader of the Fort Worth region before saying a blessing.
