Opening in 1959, Arkla Village was a frontier-themed tourist attraction in Emmet, Arkansas. The settlement featured a soft-drink saloon, general store, blacksmith shop, livery stable, sheriff’s office, horse corral, and show track.

This 1962 home movie captures Longview’s Pine Tree High School marching band on a trip to Memphis, Tennessee. Along the way, the group stops in Emmet, Arkansas, to tour Arkla Village, a western-themed tourist attraction. In Memphis, the band performs in a parade. Founded in 1847, Pine Tree is the 57th oldest public high school in the United States.
