Percy Foreman on James Earl Ray, 06/14/68: Criminal defense attorney Percy Foreman comments on the possibility of his representing James Earl Ray, the assassin of Martin Luther King Jr. Foreman ultimately did defend Ray at trial, solidifying his reputation as one of the best known trial lawyers in the United States.
Eckhart [sic] on Guns, 06/14/68: US Congressman Robert C. Eckhardt of Texas calls out opposition to gun control legislation. Eckhardt served in the Texas House of Representatives from 1959 to 1967, and the United States House of Representatives from 1967 to 1981. He is also co-founder of the Texas Observer magazine.

Many are silent and would have been voiced over by the anchorperson during a live broadcast. The titles for each segment are the originals created by KHOU-TV. The clips on this reel all date from June 13-16, 1968. This series includes news segments about the approach of the Icarus asteroid, weather-related traffic incidents, and boat racing on Lake Houston. Also included are press conferences with Congressman Robert Eckhardt about gun control and criminal defense attorney Percy Foreman about James Earl Ray, the assassin of Martin Luther King Jr.
