This 1959 home movie captures a family trip to New Mexico, featuring stunning scenes shot at the White Sands National Monument. The footage opens outside Carlsbad Caverns, as families wait for bats to emerge. Once night begins to fall, the bats can be seen flying across the sky. The family then makes their way to White Sands, where the children run and roll down the dunes, as their parents, also barefoot, take in the splendor of the gypsum sands.
