Broadcast live on Beaumont’s KFDM-TV, this 1990s footage features a series of news segments about the construction of Imagination Station. Imagination Station is an equal access playground located in Beaumont’s Central Park. Also known as the Rotary Playground, the barrier-free equipment is specifically designed to give children with physical and developmental disabilities access to play. In the footage, newscaster Tom Wright reports live on the scene to interview volunteers and show the progress of the park’s construction. Joining the station in 1985, Wright has worked for KFDM for more than 30 years. He currently serves as a news managing editor.
