This home movie segment captures the Cochran family on a trip to Six Flags Over Texas soon after the amusement park’s opening in August 1961. The family enjoys many of the amusement park’s original rides, some of which are no longer in operation, including the Ferrocarril Fiesta Train, the Astro-Lift, and the Overland Butterfield Stagecoach. The footage also shows the posters that designated the park’s six themed sections.
