This NASA footage captures an Apollo 12 astronaut performing an extravehicular activity on the surface of the Moon. Astronauts Pete Conrad and Richard Gordon Jr. spent more than 31 hours on the lunar surface, exiting the Lunar Module on two occasions. Launched on November 14, 1969, Apollo 12 was the second space mission to land on the Moon. After rejoining astronaut Alan Bean in the Command Module, the three-man flight crew splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on November 24.
