County seat of Hidlago County, Edinburg was incorporated in 1919. Known as the "gateway" city to the Rio Grande valley, Edinburg is one of the principal cities of the the McAllen-Edinburgh-Mission metropolitan area, and home to University of Texas-Pan American and the Museum of South Texas History. This brief home movie of teen friends in 1980s Edinburg shows them exploring an area around an old drive-in movie theater and an abandoned roadside graveyard.
