This film includes extended footage from a 1955 high school football game between the Giddings Buffaloes and the Taylor Ducks. Taylor won 14-6.

County seat of Lee County, Giddings is located about 50 miles east of Austin and 100 miles west of Houston. Primarily and agricultural community since its founding in 1871, Giddings experienced an oil boom during the 1980s. The first Giddings High School was built in 1892 on the site of the existing high school gym. Athletic activities at the school began in the early 1900s under the leadership of its second superintendent, Mr. T. P. Walker.
