This film captures scenes from the Giddings High School 1957 football season, in which the Buffaloes finished with a 10-2 record. Highlights from six games are included in the footage, including those against the Luling Eagles, the Schulenburg Shorthorns, the Bastrop Bears, the Columbus Cardinals, the La Grange Leopards, and the Gonzalez Apaches.

County seat of Lee County, Giddings is located about 50 miles east of Austin and 100 miles west of Houston. Primarily and agricultural community since its founding in 1871, Giddings experienced an oil boom during the 1980s. The first Giddings High School was built in 1892 on the site of the existing high school gym. Athletic activities at the school began in the early 1900s under the leadership of its second superintendent, Mr. T. P. Walker.
