This home movie from the Arch Campbell collection captures footage of the 1950 Texas Open Golf Tournament, now known as the Valero Texas Open. The tournament began in 1922 and over the decades has been played at a number of San Antonio area golf courses. The 1950 Texas Open was held February 9-12 and played at two locations - the Brackenridge Park and Ft. Sam Houston Golf Courses (this footage shows the Brackenridge portion). That year's champion was Sam Snead, who won $2,000 for his -19 performance.
