Austin television personality Carolyn Jackson interviews actor Tom Skerritt at the press junket for the film Alien. The conversation begins with Skerritt talking about time he spent in Austin close to 25 years prior. The interview covers a wide range of topics, including Skerrit's reasons for going into acting and the effect it has had on his life, the style of several directors with whom he has worked, why he chose to take the role of Dallas in the film, and the surprising flop of his previous film, Ice Castles. Please note, at times video quality is poor due to deterioration of the original tape.

Carolyn Jackson was on the air in Austin as a daytime lifestyle show host during the late 1960s and 1970s. She began her broadcast career when she joined KTBC in 1968 as the host of Women's World, which was later renamed The Carolyn Jackson Show. In the late 1970s, Jackson moved the show to KTVV (now NBC affiliate KXAN).

These excerpts represent a small sample of Jackson's work. The bulk of her collection is made up of interviews with Texas personalities or from Hollywood film release press junkets, but the collection also includes feature stories, outtakes, and behind the scenes clips.
