James and Joreen Ludeke settled in Wichita County in 1954 and raised their 6 children on their ranch located on the former site of the Four Sixes Horse Ranch and the North West Oil field. Their film collection features scenes of farm life set against a backdrop of North Central Texas prairie, the Red River, and Oklahoma in the distance. Also included within the collection are special events, such as family trips, holidays, family weddings, the 1968 HemisFair in San Antonio, and the Texas Sesquicentennial celebrations held in 1986 in Wichita Falls. This movie captures a young Kim Ludeke playing in his parents' farmyard in Lockett, Texas - climbing a ladder, chasing farm cats and gathering Easter eggs - in the late 1950s.
