Filmed by Texas-native Marcellus Hartman while serving in Vietnam, this footage captures some leisure time at Camp Evans. Hijinx caught on camera include a soldier impersonating Charlie Chaplain and another pretending to enjoy a fine dining experience of tar from the ground.

The Marcellus Hartman Collection consists of over 300 Super 8 films made by Hartman, a Texan, while serving in the military in Vietnam in the early 1970s. The films document everyday life on his base, Camp Evans, capturing the comings and goings of soldiers and others who worked there, helicopters arriving and taking off, and images of the surrounding landscape and Hartman's visits to cities and other military locations in Vietnam.
