An aerial view captures a parade passing through the city streets below and takes in the urban skyline at eye-level. Additional holiday home movie footage shows lake vacationers enjoying an afternoon of sunbathing. Home movies occupy an enormous part of our Texas film heritage. Since the 1920s, popular formats like 16mm, 8mm, Super 8 and video have captured our private events and public moments and helped us channel our creative impulses as amateur filmmakers. But they do more than just document our lives: our home movies continually reveal what we consider to be valuable, significant and worth sharing with others.
