This home movie captures a number of sites in the Galveston and Houston areas, most likely filmed in the spring of 1940. Notable footage includes the Mallory steamship docks at 25th Street and Wharf in historic Galveston, air traffic at Scholes Field (now Scholes International Airport), the Galveston Sulfur Export Depot, and the carhops at the popular Houston-based restaurant, Sivils Dive-In. These films are part of the collection courtesy of native Galvestonian and current Austin resident Richard Eisenhour, who discovered and bought them on Ebay in 2011. The family in the film and the person who shot the footage are unknown, but they are mainly shot in-and-around Galveston.
